Materials

  • 400 g ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2-3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Chili pepper
  • Thyme
  • Cumin
  • Oil for frying
  • For tomato sauce
  • 4-5 large tomatoes
  • 1-2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 1 piece of sugar cube
  • Salt
  • Black pepper (more basil if desired)
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 250 g YÖRÜKSUT cheddar cheese
  • 2-3 green peppers

Preparation of

Add the grated onion and garlic, minced meat, spices, salt and enough breadcrumbs (until it reaches the consistency of meatballs) into a deep bowl and knead well. Cover it with cling film and let it rest for at least 2-3 hours. (If you don’t have time, you can do it without resting) Then give the meatball shape you want and fry the meatballs a little in a heated pan with a little oil. Place the fried meatballs in the casserole dish. Grate the tomatoes separately. Put 1 tablespoon of oil in the pan and heat it. Add tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and 1 sugar cube and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat. (If the tomato paste is less for you, you can add a little more tomato paste). Add salt and pepper and remove from the stove. Pour the sauce over the meatballs in the casserole. Add 2-3 green peppers on it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees for 10 minutes. Then add the grated cheddar cheese and bake in the oven until the cheddar melts and turns brown. Serve hot.
